So, which do you think they made up with first: the title or the puppet?

'Cause there are a number of issues with having a sloth be the villain in your slasher movie, and that's not even getting into their applying the old defunct idea of alpha and beta animals to SLOTHS of all things.

majingojira

They should have used a ground sloth instead.

Why?

Mylodontid ground sloths were bear-sized omnivorous.

They are impressive diggers (so they can hide and surprise in a horror context).

And to support this digging they had insanely big and large claws. Like, one claw bone (not including the sheath) is the size of a human hand.

Oh, and they have thick skin with bones embedded in that skin like organic chainmail, making them super tough.

If Australia can make a Thylacoleo/Drop Bear horror movie, this shouldn't be too far off.

I’d love to see a Cenozoic horror flick.

majingojira

Well, there is one about the Australian Marsupial lion, Thylacoleo. Came out, like, last year.

blackgreenandblue

Wow, I’ve not heard of that. I’ll have to check it out!

The Silver Age Prankster is the DC villain with the biggest of big dick energy. Absolutely does not give one fuck. People praise Lex Luthor for being powerless and tangling with the Man of Steel, but if we’ve learned anything from Batman and Iron Man, being rich as fuck and smart as hell are basically a superpower. “No innate powers” + “Kryptonite-powered supersuit and ray gun” is still a superpower.

The Prankster is fucking poor and has an IQ of 110, and he still trolls an invulnerable alien whose eyesight can cut the planet in half.

The Golden Age Prankster was a genuinely vile menace, a kidnapper who used poisonous gases, but the Silver Age version just did stupid shit for no real reason. He also liked to team up with the Joker and betray him. He fucked over the Joker, repeatedly, and got away with it.

“Superman and the Joker teamed up to take him down” sounds like something on the resume of, say, Darkseid, but no, that’s the Prankster.

Absolute brass balls

So this was the unanswered messages in my ask box a couple of days ago:

and this is the unanswered messages in my ask box today,

and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who has said such nice things about the season, and I'm sorry to everyone who had emotions they weren't expecting, and I'm impressed that so many of you have theories and don't plan to answer, validate or really even comment on any of them, but mostly I'm just sorry because I probably won't read whatever you've sent, not because I don't want to but because if I was doing nothing but reading Tumblr asks as a full time job I still wouldn't catch up with the thousands of asks coming in.

I'm glad you care.
